I think it depends a lot on the cart. My old killbros side auger cart it has holes in the hinge plate. I bolt it solid, unhook the hoses, and leave it out till harvest is over. Furthest I have to go down the road is 1/4 mile at a time to get from field to field. I don't go bouncing through ditches in road gear to get to the truck or combine either so out works well for me.
