NW Washington | You can drop the straw and spread the chaff with those combines if equipped right. Check the JD combine site. Here is some info I copied from the JD site.
"The overshot beater is ideal when you want straw without chaff (for example,
as bedding for livestock). Straw and chaff are separated at the rear of the
combine; the straw can be dropped in a windrow, while chaff is routed through
the chopper, then distributed over the full header width by the vane tailboard,
PowerCast or Advanced PowerCast system". | |
