July is also the final push for acreage reporting! The deadline is July 15th and it is very important that if you can’t report your acres before the 15th due to circumstances beyond your control – at a minimum, you must call the county office and ask to be added to the register. At the close of business on the 15th – those producers who have not contacted the county office will be considered “late filed”. We are in the home stretch – as of today, 29,926,095.87 of acres have been reported with 75.8% of farms having completed reporting. We also have 634,328.35 acres reported as prevent plant – less than in the previous two years but still a significant number. Thanks very much to those producers who have already reported and avoided the crush during the final week.
