My wife wanted us to get into Canada just for a day or two, maybe by Soo area. She's never been to a different country. She priced us getting 6 passports, 4 of which are for the kids. Says it would be like $900 just to go see canada for a day. There will be no canada for us.
Passport good for ten years for adults, pretty cheap when you spread the cost per year out.
What do I need to get into Canada ?
