East of Broken Bow | Our local CarQuest shop sells Tekton. Good for the price, lifetime no questions asked guarantee.
Our Ace Hardware sells Craftsman sockets individually. Most are imported now, and quality seems good, but not quite to the old USA ones.
Menards and Home Depot both sell individual sockets, but IMO, the Tekton or Craftsman are better.
Honestly, if you are in no big hurry, Amazon and Ebay will often have some of the old Made in USA stock show up from time to time. Biggest problem there is that they usually run out of the most often lost sizes pretty fast. I did recently get a couple USA Craftsman sockets in 1/2 and 9/16, I think I got the last 9/16 they had available at the time.
Also, don't discount other USA brands on ebay/Amazon. Sometimes you can get an Armstrong or Williams for hardly any more than an import socket.
Lastly, HarryJEpstein.com specializes in USA made tools, but availability can be all over the board. Last I checked, they still had some of the Nebraska made Eagle Grip locking pliers left. Not cheap, but very, very high quality. They charge shipping, but throw in some other tools, and it isn't bad per piece. | |
