Northwest Iowa | I've had both of mine repaired. My right shoulder was similar to what DLB describes. Couldn't even reach out to shake hands prior to surgery so in my estimation-nothing to lose. Mayo clinic in Rochester. Asked Dr how many in a month- their division did like 400? He hoped for me to get 65% of use/strength back as it was pretty bad. I'm probably 75-80% in that shoulder. Other place I talked to said no more than 35% and would have to behave myself. No restrictions and no pain in the end for me. 6 weeks of no movement in a sling, then 2 months of therapy and then just use it at home. Probably took 6-9 months to get the strength back. Only pain was in therapy but certainly worthwhile. | |
