Pittsburg, Kansas | In the past I have heard complaints of the big business running the small guy out of business. There is some truth to that and a legitimate complaint in some cases, especially if the big business does stuff like sell below cost until the little guy goes broke then raises price. But I digress.
The thing that always hacked me off about "the little guy" was if I needed to use the restroom and they looked at you like a criminal for needing to go to the bathroom without pumping gas first. Or if you did not need to buy something that particular trip, just needed the bathroom. You never get that from the big businesses. They know you or at least a percentage of people will be back if they like the service and facilities. I think in a few cases the little guy slit their own throat simply because the big guy did a better job of serving the customer. Not all. But some. I know I avoided the places that did not treat me well whenever I could.
Yes, I hate having to ask for a key. But I also understand the low lifes in some locations make it a necessity. We have a Braums that there were a few people that looked homeless (not sure if they were) who would just camp out in the restroom. Don't know if they slept or what. Don't know how the business got it stopped but no longer a problem that I have seen. |
