Does it work good in alfalfa in low humidity environmentsÂ
If you like shelling all the leaves off, then yes.
We tried them. Windrow quality and dry down was second to none. But in the summer time we can't even catch the slightest dew and they are too rough on the alfalfa.
We used to run Vermeer basket rakes, then Krone rotaries, and now Circle C wheel rakes. Wheel rake is by the far the most gentle option. Better dry down than the hydraulic basket rakes but not quite as good as the rotaries.
Circle C makes a good wheel rake - possibly the best for crossing pivot tracks - but I would really like to try a Darf and a Rowse alongside our Circle Cs. Circle C has really been going cheap on bearings and teeth the last few years. | |
