| Irrigate NE - 7/6/2024 14:56 We thought the Battle of the Little Bighorn was time very well spent. But we are big history buffs. We heard both the Indian perspective and the US government perspective on the battle. There's also a National Cemetery there. I realize it's located in WY but the Devil's Tower was also a great stop. And a great place to hike.
I would also recommend this. I thought I was pretty well read on this piece of history, but it never really made sense to me until I set foot on the actual terrain. It makes you realize what 1870 communications technology and limitations of accurate maps did to the judgement of Custer and the other officers there. And.... you can feel things when you are there. |
