We thought the Battle of the Little Bighorn was time very well spent. But we are big history buffs. We heard both the Indian perspective and the US government perspective on the battle. There's also a National Cemetery there. I realize it's located in WY but the Devil's Tower was also a great stop. And a great place to hike.

I'll second this!

There is a tombstone for every soldier, red for Indians and white for the 7th Calvery men ...... even one for the horses lost in the battle.
Many tell when the deceased fell and how (I assume from survivor's memories).

Maybe my ignorance was the reason I was so taken aback by it, I knew the story of how the Indians from many tribes rode down in the valley and attacked Custer.

I just didn't realize how big the valley was ............ we drove for miles on the car paths.
