Subject: RE: Establishing red clover in wheat

North Central Illinois
Here's mine today. In late February I wanted 15 lb/acre. Used a 3 pt cone spreader that claims 30' spread. Set it for half rate (I thought) and spread the whole field. I'd used a little more than half my seed, so I closed the gate a little and spread again splitting the middle of the first pass.

I used seed grown by a friend and mixed an innocculant with it in the spreader.

Wheat is on 8" spacing. It does struggle with really good wheat sometimes, especially if it lodges.
