What is it doing or not doing? Doesn't idle, idles rough, surges at idle, acts lean under load, smokes under load, does the choke help? If it acts lean at idle or under load sea foam is the first thing to try as mentioned. If the choke doesn't help you might have a spark problem. Sea foam does wonders with my little transfer pump engines when they start leaning out and need a choke to run. Two or three times a year my Kohler command 18 horse will die at anything less than full throttle. A quick blip with the choke to over fuel it will clear it up and it will be good to go for the next month or so. Let us know when you find the problem so we know if we made the right suggestion or not.

That's the right approach. All of those things can make an engine run rough. Eliminate them all one at a time, and you can usually fix it.
