RR Valley, ND; MN native | My elderly aunt (she's 86) leased part of a 40 acre parcel she owns for solar. I first heard of it a couple years ago and it took some time to get the zoning worked out. They started on the construction this spring. There are 2 other similar ones within a few miles of hers all on the main state highway. But, that makes the most sense due to location of power lines, etc.
I don't understand her motivation other than the financial aspect but at her age she is not likely to benefit for long I suppose. But, she has always played the long game on being frugal and taking advantage of opportunity for $$. | |
