Back in the 1980’s there was a store called “LaBelles”???
It was a catalog showroom. I think the shelves had the “display model” with a number you wrote down, then you paid, and the actual item came on a conveyor belt from the back.
Looks like this type of store might need to come back?
Back in the 90's we had a Service Merchandise store that operated that way. Wait by the conveyor.
Summit Racing store near me still does it that way. Big showroom with a service desk in the middle. Place your order with one of the guys and go to the cashier to pay. Once paid, warehouse guys round up your stuff. |
