Milford, IL | Unusual that the BIOS will detect a disk and Windows Disk Management will not. I'd lean towards hardware issue, problem with main board, cable problem, problem with the SSD. If you have another PC available, might try to install the new Samsung SSD in this machine as boot drive and format.
A 4 year old XPS will have at least one M.2 NVMe slot on the motherboard. NVMe would give you a nice increase in speed over a 2.5" SSD, something to consider if you end up needing to return the 1TB Samsung. | |
