Son has been trying some cc-nt beans on some of his lighter ground for 4-5 years. Mostly cereal rye but has tried some other covers as well. Been planting green then coming in with burn down & residuals. Then later come back with a post spray. Last year worked well, didn't even have to do a post spray on one field. Usually have problems getting the rye killed off before it gets to big . This year burned it down early with roundup before planting. Rains set in & rye died & matted to the ground& couldn't get the ground to dry & ended up with a thin stand.. Have sprayed a preserve with residualm& a post spray with aa residual & will probably have to spray again.,

We did no-till some corn into bean stubble last year on some of our better ground. Struggled early compared to the conventional tilled on either side but at harvest there was very little yield difference. Tried some not-tiil cob on timber soils this year . Struggled getting up, rain soon after planting, and had to replant some areas. Looking better but we really could use a rai but ll our crops could
