I just got one at Aldi one day on sale. It worked fine and was $50. Just clamp it onto the container of your choice, kind of like a clothes pin.

Can't look at the brand, no longer cook and gave it to the Daughter.

I don't think you will regret the purchase. I cooked good steaks to around 121F or so. Can't overcook them from the preset temp.

Then just pull and brown the meat. I've used grills and even a propane torch.
