Anyone knowledgeable about electric grounding on trailer mounted generator?

No idea if legal. I took old booster cable to ground lug. I put an iron pipe, or solid stake and 8 lb sledge. I pound pipe, shaft in at least 2’ if possible, hook old booster clamp, start pto. Has not killed me yet.


FYI neighbor bought same generator. Called me as it blew up lightbulbs., motors ran fast. “Well shut it down”. He refused as milking time.
I came over, saw things I did not like. “I will not touch it until you power down PTO”
Well electrician drove in. Neighbor was unhappy I woukd not *do something*
I was thrilled to let expert. IIRC frame, tractor was 220 volts. The 220 plug kicking out 440 volt. It had been modified for irrigation. He had to get rid of it. Very unsafe.
Electrician claimed neighbor not hurt because dry location, new knee high barn boots.
Funny thing? Neighbor used to sell large self contained generators for businesses.
