Yep.
The law of averages is a mean old woman. 1.8" on Monday, another 3.8" so far today (still raining) with more on the way tomorrow and Saturday. Total YTD is around 23", more than we had for the whole year in 2021, 2022, or 2023.
2018 wet. Crop sucked. Thought it couldn't get wetter than this. 2019 wet. Crop sucked. It got even wetter than 2018. Planted late, crop was wet, low yielding and low TW. 2020 dry. Crop was "meh" 2021 dry. Crop was decent. Good on the good ground, not good on the lighter ground. Rainfall was very variable also. 2022 dry. Worst crop in 30+ years. Had never before seen crops that bad on a lot of our ground. 2023 dry. Crop was "meh" Much better than 2022 but still well under APH 2024 wet so far. Crop looks like its gonna suck again. Gonna be lots of drown outs. Could possibly give 2022 a run for setting a new record on crappy crops if the wet weather hangs around.
Be wonderful if we could just have an "average" year again someday. Its getting old pulling down our APH year after year.
