I agree that is too long.

The advantages to the long interview style is sometimes it gives the guest more time for nuance. 

The advantage to a formal presentation is it is usually constricted to a certain time limit and the presenter has to stay on point and on topic. They are usually shorter and to the point.

Both types are ok and have their place. But if a person already trusts the source we may be only looking for information. A short presentation is better. The longer interview style a person can get to know the person being interviewed better because they tend to say more things ad lib and maybe a better chance to know where the person is coming from and whether I want to trust their opinions or not.
