Most seem to say we need less check offs…. I can see that, but we all need to take ownership one way or another to expand our brand.
How many other commodities have checkoffs? Any mining ore checkoffs? If we want to increase demand for commodities it should be spent on figuring out other products that can be made from it... a commodity isn't a brand
Same with the coops now... Why does Landus sponsor so many dsm area sports and events? Are the city people going to buy a case of roundup from them?
In another life I sat in on market focus groups and bs corporate feel good junk (who moved my cheese btw?). The people at the heads of these organizations are so far removed from their target audiences they are just doing whatever the consultants they hire recommend.
