I don’t know the answer but we had 2 1044’s for 30-40 years and have never seen that happen. One had maybe 1 inch wide by 6 inch long piece of thin sheet metal from the bolts were the plywood broke out to the plywood with a couple bolts in it. I’m sure that clear as mud.
