FYI: for display cables, I use an Orange paint stick, and draw a short "dash line"; at the  Vertical position;, on both display cable/s and back of monitor/s (when attached) and that helps line up , when switching monitors = gives a nice visual reference, during the swap.

Sidenote:: I hate that M12 connector, for the newer Ethernet connection = takes me a fair amount of wiggling and patience so I don't screw up those threads=IMO, terrible design, for a connector, that might have to be removed and reinstalled a number of times, during monitor swaps
