perryton, tx | Last year after my corn was nearly to black layer and agronomist said profile moisture was sufficient to shut down for the season we had a string of really hot days. I started the water back just making a 24 hr pass putting on around .35 inch. I timed it so I’d be watering the south side from sunup to sundown for the sole reason of cooling the plants off during the hottest part of the day. I can’t prove it but I feel like I got a yield bump, or rather prevented some yield loss by doing that. | |
