Central Illinois | My thoughts having only experienced it twice. What ever size Corn Head that you use, take one less row. Any stalk drapped over an outside snout most likely will not pull the ear in. If that ear is dangling over an unused row you at least have a chance of harvesting it. Roll -A-Cones help but are not a cure-all. Ears laying on the ground look terrible but with corn at $4.50 a bushel, each ear is worth 4 cents. You can incur a whole lot of wear and potential damage to your Combine and Corn Head trying to pick a few extra dollars per acre.
