Durant EC Iowa | Been a few years since we lived out there. 101 used to be a good drive. Eureka down around clear lake is nice. End up in napa valley wineries and if you are up to it the mud baths are refreshing. Lot of shops and just old town scenery. Think there is an older train through there too.
Sausalito is a nice little town before you go over Golden gate bridge. San Francisco fisherman's wharf and crab louis salads are the best. Alcatraz Island tour is a must. Heard the city has deteriorated so not sure what areas to avoid. Years ago you could go anywhere.
