| There is a possibility of a more sinister plan but some would consider that to be just a conspiracy theory because we all know that everyone has salt of the earth good intentions towards others. Yes that is sarcasm.
This can be explained in even more basic terms that I wish I could say no one can argue but I expect some will.
Virtually every wealthy person in the world got wealthy by seeking to accumulate wealth. The extremely wealthy, the elite if you will, are almost certainly even more driven by wealth accumulation than the average person. One hindrance to wealth accumulation is competition and someone who is driven by wealth accumulation eliminating the competition helps pave the way to their goal. As was mentioned, the small businesses were often closed while the large businesses remained open.
At least as far as I am aware there was no area where the Walmarts of the world were forced to close due to Covid measures while small businesses could remain open. If that is incorrect please correct me. I suspect there was some lobbying of the government going on by the big corps to remain open. At any rate, overall there was a period of time during Covid where the large corps were often able to eliminate their competition. Many small businesses never did open again and most of those that did reopen were weaker. Very few small businesses came out the other side of Covid stronger whereas many big corps did.
At its best it can be explained by the normal business practices of extremely wealthy people to weaken or destroy the middle class small business owners, who are their competition, by taking advantage of the Covid fiasco.
Those are all normal business practices, no need to claim it’s a conspiracy theory. The concept of everyone in an area going to the same store is the direct opposite of the other practices intended to reduce the chance of transmission.
