| This is my last crop also. Our son has been taking over more and more acres of ours each year. It has been different to realize that you just ordered your last seed corn/beans.... last chemicals..... last phone call to the fert application people... last call to the hail insurance people. We will still work/drive tractor spring/fall for our son and his family, he has 4 sons and 2 of them seem to be little farmers, but who knows, they are 5 and 3 years old.
Looking back, we've seen some really good times and some really hard times during the approximately 51 crops that I've planted. I've made some good decessions that perhaps were mostly luck, and some poor choices. As the poet said "paths not taken". | |
