If you still have your last crop in your bin when retiring…

My husband passed September 17, 2021. My son started harvesting his dads last crop the day after his funeral. A thoughtful neighbor requested our farm help (unbeknownst to us) to set aside a five gallon bucket full of corn for her.

The neighbor bought a clear glass base lamp and filled it with the shelled corn. She stopped by later that fall and gave me the cherished gift. I have it next to my husbands picture. We had enough corn for both sons and the two “farmer” grandsons to each get a lamp.

A nice remembrance for any retired farmer too, I think.
