Thanks for the calculations (V=IR) . So the resister connects to +12 volts then to the 12v input at the sensor. This looks like a current limiting resistor vs a voltage "bridge". It will probably work fine, but I'm a little concerned about the value agleader gave me vs your calculation. You makes sense and if I use 12 volts instead of 5 volts I come up with a 1000 ohm resistor which is further from the agleader suggestion. It was 430 on Monday so.....
