Subject: RE: Dickey John seed tube module pin out help

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
As you may be aware, Ag Leader has several modules that deal with seed. Originally there was/is the Population portion which was handled either by a Seed Tube Monitoring Module (STTM) or PPM (Kinze MuxBus). If a STTM was used, Ag Leader has several adapter cables that allowed one to use the original sensors and the original frame wiring harness but connect the frame harness to the STTM rather than to the separate planter monitor as before.

There was also the Clutch Control Module which is used to shut off sections of the planter. The sections and clutches could be setup various ways. There are various type of clutches. An appropriate wiring harness is needed to match the section layout.

A hydraulic drive module was also available. This was a method to replace a ground driven planter with a hydraulic drive. It consisted of a hydrualic control valve, shaft sensors and orbit motors to turn the seed shaft.

With these three modules various combinations of using one, two or all three are possible. They all work with seed but with different aspects. For example we use a STTM for population and a Clutch Module for 12-2 row sections but still use the original ground drive.

Later in history Ag Leader came out with even more choices with some electric drive options that combine the above functions.
