There is just about a quarter in every section around here for miles and miles a miles that will not be touched. Lots of reseeding will happen to into the end of June which looks to be about the time this weather pattern will change. In all the years i have been farming I have never seen anything like this. It’s not just last years corn stalks it’s everything. It’s just been too wet wet wet. Will be a real eye opener of PP acres. I don’t think people realize how much hasn’t been done. You can’t get the crop planted 4 days. How old are you? I can remember a couple years in the mid 2000’s timeframe where going up I29 to our fishing camp in northern Manitoba where the water was literally six inches below the pavement. Two black stripes in a never ending ocean. Had couple farmers from north of pembina that took the year off, got some sort of Canadian version of PP. Never saw those guys take a sober breath all week, nor even launch their fancy boat hooked up to his King Ranch. First King Ranch I ever saw. |
