Subject: RE: New Holland T7070

Back then an install usually just powered the NAV from the cab, I forget where, but I know it was keyed.

Maybe play musical relays?

Unless someone later installed a power relay harness powered by the monitor, that is the way they were usually powered when installed.

It "should" (as per my dealer's recommendation years later) be powered by a trigger and relay that is triggered from your monitor. The reason is that if the tractor is on, the NAV is on, regardless of what the monitor is. It's not great for the NAV, it can lead to brown outs from starting the tractor especially if jumping or the batteries are low, and it just gives the NAV hours it doesn't need. The power circuits inside them DO need freshening every several years.
