I had a McCulloch about 45 years ago. Had a stone built in that you pushed down to sharpen the chain. Mine did not have the longevity that yours did.
Dunno if it's true, but I heard that McCulloch was going bankrupt, but the employees pooled together and bought the company. Seems like they knew how to make a better chainsaw than their old bosses did.
