Agent Orange: Friendly fire that keeps on burning. | Never had one of his saws but the guys who bought them did have an effect on our lives. The story of McCulloch isn't the typical rags to riches local boy done good tale. He came from money and married some to boot. His wife was a Briggs, who was part of the Briggs & Stratton brand. In addition to the saws, he was also involved in land developments, one of which is; Lake Havasu City. He bought old bridges and moved them across oceans, to span waterways that weren't there until he dug them for a place to put his new, old stone bridge. He bought desert mountainsides, flew folks, in old airliners, to look at and buy their piece of desert on the shores of AZ. He also dabbled with motorboat engines and gyrocopters. In addition to other projects, he thought it would be a good idea to participate in the corded tool industry. Thinking he needed some name recognition for his new line, he formed a partnership with the privately held Shop-Vac company. If you've never heard of Shop-Vac or McCulloch drills, it's understandable because according to lead project manager, McCulloch very nearly managed to break the Shop-Vac company with that little debacle.
