southern MN | My first chainsaw was a little red Homelite. Maybe a 10 inch bar?
Dad cut down the trees with his 20 inch monster old McCulloch. Man that thing was a beast, and you felt like you fought a beast after wrestling with it a while. Much of the struggle was getting it started. Dad was usually wore out by the time it fired up. When running it made a lot of sawdust tho!
I could zip around and trim the small branches off with the little Homelite. It must have had a lot of compression. Several of its soark plugs came apart, the porcelain would rattle back and forth in the metal base.
We cut wood for our house, half the heat of my uncles house, and most of the heat for my grandmas house.
