Subject: RE: Working RTK Base Station for less than $1,000

New Zealand
I just had a look now, and was pleased to see that the important numbers are changing each second. It's a shame you don't know what was wrong, but at least the reset must have set it right.
The RTK2Go stream now looks fine and is updating the message content as it should. I see no reason that it should not work.

In the stream you send to me you are sending both MSM 4 and MSM7 at the same time. I know that is only for testing, but I am not sure how StrSvr deals with that. It is probably better to only do one or the other out of the receiver. I would personally go with the MSM4 (xxx4) and use less data. The MSM7 is larger than MSM4, but is also slightly more precise. That does not mean that MSM4 is not precise, and personally I do not think a tractor would ever show any difference. It is more important to have plenty of satellites and a low correction age.. But I have not looked further into that.

Below is a screenshot from my Snip caster RTCM viewer. You can download the lite version of snip for free and use it to look at your stream and see what happens second by second. The numbers on the page on the screenshot that need to update each second is the L1 and L2 "Phase Range" and "Phase" values. You need all L1 and L2 values for a satellite to use it in a RTK fix on your Trimble receiver (and others too).

When I took this screenshot your base was only tracking 6 GPS satellites with both L1 and L2 frequencies decoded. The others have "zero" for the L2 values, which is why your receiver will only use 6 GPS satellites even though the number on RTK2GO may show 9. Later in the evening your number increased to 8, which is probably maximum. This is just a limitation of the F9p, and it makes it a not the best option as a base for rovers that can only do GPS. If you have Glonass, you should be fine. (This, along with the CMR+ option, is the main reason I upgraded my base to the Mosaic).

I added a user with your name
