I no tilled for about 7 years.....I was hoping to see my soil have more improvement than I did. I ended up renting a subsoiler last fall as I knew I had to do something when I could feel every tire cleat while riding in my 4wd tractor and had very little to no fluff to the soil......Im kinda in a love hate with the whole thing, as I know I just hit the rest button on soil structure...But I am darn glad that I did since my corn this spring had to weather some serious rain and cold, and so far has done a lot better than if I had not ripped..I have some test areas that confirm this. I have learned that no till with covers needs to start off with very little compaction for it to make the biggest difference.
