on a 1255 planter is the start plant and stop plant at headland determined by distance from globe? or is it with time, beings how they need to know planting speed. TIA
It's based on the measurements you've entered for GPS Forward Offset and Bar Distance. Those measurements tell the display how far it is from the GPS receiver to the row units, and then the system uses your ground speed to calculate how long it will take you to travel that distance, so that it can send the "start" or "stop" command at the right time. Product Delay is also factored in, because this is the time it takes the system to respond to a command (i.e. how long does it take from when the system says "start" to when seed actually hits the ground). If you want the system to intentionally start earlier or stop later than the math would call for, you can add a Start Early Distance or Stop Late Distance.
