| I haven't been to one of those auctions yet, but I have been underneath of a car that came from one.
Six months after the auction the paint had rust bubbles popping, the suspension had black paint over grease, rear wheel studs only went into the nuts 1/4 inch or so. Transmission didn't shift into 3rd gear. Many other expensive problems to fix before the car was road ready.
What a mess. At the auction, it had very nice paint and interior. The car was built to sell at the auction, and nothing more.
While there can be some very good value buys at any auction, looking over that car really opened my eyes about needing to closely inspect the vehicles before bidding. | |
