Plant both corn and beans at 2". Have seen many more fields of beans fail to establish a stand when planted shallow because the can't miss big rain didn't happen. Have replanted 2 fields of beans in 40 crops, both after 3"+ rains within 12 hours of planting on soils that were too wet to plant anyway.
