East Helena Montana | I have a 2020 with just shy of 38,000 miles on it. I use only full synthetic oil and GM filters at every oil change. I can attest it does use oil between oil changes and once even triggered a low oil alarm on the dash. I never notice any smoke and it runs good and pulls good. I have no complaints with the pickup and have been very happy with it. That said it is kind of annoying that it uses some oil. I had a Dodge with he 6.4 hemi before this pickup and it never used oil, just burnt through the fuel.
