Subject: RE: Seed depth at planting

Southwestern Ontario
Like you, we just let where the moisture is dictate the depth. The exception with beans is trying not to bury them too deep or they lose steam trying to come up. Last year it was very dry at planting and half the guys in the area sunk them deeper. A few days later we got a good rain to recharge the soil and the other half of guys went out and planted shallower after the rain. The guys who waited for the rain had better yields than those of us who planted deeper.
