Subject: RE: Cargill Open Front Hog Buildings

Iowa

Dad has an old one back in Iowa. Just storage now(tires, rims, sprayer boom, cattle panels, hog panels).

It been thru one fire(mouse in boiler insulation) and two tornados(roof ripped off) and last big wind storm took almost 2/3 of the roof. So he has 4 - 8 ft x 20 ft bays that still are under a roof.

I will say that the heated concrete floors, with just black poly tubing, worked excellent and never had any leaks. Now, those dang outside waters, that circulate water around the bowl and its components were a constant problem. Mainly due to the underground, very small pit(4 ft x 4 ft x 8 ft deep) that the circulating water pump and tank were located in (right next to the 8 ft x 100 ft x 8ft deep manure pit). Couldn't even swing a pipe wrench to work on that dang unit down there. I remember it well, as I was the small guy that could fit in one corner and try to work on it.

I'd like to get an excavator and tear it out.
