I'm similar to you in size. 6' 2" and 185-190 lbs. I spent the past 10 years running and decided last fall to learn how to lift weights. I'm fortunate to have a gym 15 minutes from home that I've been going to 2-4 times/week since October. I'm not strong but I have gained strength and mobility. I've not really gained or lost any weight and don't need to but all my shirts fit tighter in the shoulders and my man boobs don't bounce on the lawn mower :). There are plenty of online training resources and/or trainers who can help you. A good friend uses one and has seen noticeable gains. His body type is bulkier than mine to begin with. We do lots of body weight workouts. If I go Monday Tuesday Thursday Friday I'll get a full body workout each week. I'm learning to enjoy it. |
