Central IA | I really enjoy using my Blackstone. I picked it up used but have had it for about a year now. We use it probably twice a week in the summer time, for various meals. As others have mentioned breakfast foods (pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, French toast, etc.). We like smash burgers and cheesesteaks as well. I have done steaks and whole chicken breasts, they come out fine but I prefer the pellet grill for those. On the Blackstone I also like the ability to toss the rest of the meal on as well, vegetables, diced potatoes and such to make a complete meal without getting another pan dirty. Fried rice is another fun one to play hibachi chef with.
I know cleaning comes up a lot as a downside of the Blackstone but I haven't found it to be that bad. Maybe I'm doing it wrong but I do a quick scrape of any burnt on food into the grease catch pan. Then a quick wipe of the surface with a handful of paper towels to get any remaining chunks and grease. A drizzle of avocado oil spread out in a thin layer with a few more paper towels and I'm done. It takes longer to carry everything to the table. I come back after the meal toss the lid on it and the cover over top. | |
