That is the argument. I just look at it as more of an excuse so the government can deficit spend and not stay in the confines of taxation. Inflation is basically a hidden tax that hits the low end of the worker income scale the worst.

I subscribe to more of what Mises and the Austrian school of economics says on the subject. Although I almost never read it any more I have quite a bit in the past.
