I have a 2004 Dakota with a V6 and 243K miles on it, mostly highway. The water pump and radiator have been replaced 3 times, otherwise no problems with it. The automatic hasn't been touched either. According to Dodge the engine was designed for a life of 200K. It could use a different bed and a few cosmetic things need attention but I think that is normal since it's 20 years old.

Maintenance and how used are two of the most important components of duration for any vehicle or machine. Treat it right and reap the benefits.
