North iowa		We are a Fire/Rescue, we provide fire protection, as well as first response EMS service non-transport. I applaud your son for getting into the field. My only advice would be go slow make sure that it is what you think it is and the job that you want. Starting out as a FF1 EMT will let him get his feet wet and discover if Fire and EMS is the job that he wants. It is a high stress occupation, and if you’re working in a small town, you are dealing with friends, family and people you know on a daily basis, in some of the worst situations in their life. I wish him the best of luck.
