SW OH		My son joined our township fire department as a volunteer 12 years ago. Soon after he passed the FF I test. Then he became an EMT. From there he became a full time paramedic 7 years ago working a 24 hour shift every third day. A little over a year ago he passed FF II and passed a state certification to be a teacher of FF I and II and maybe more. He left our township department just under a year ago (not his choice) and is currently working part time for another township in the county.

I'm sure it varies state to state. I wish the best of luck to your son and hope he does not become a victim of dirty backroom politics like my son did.
